Nicholas continues to be a little monkey with great skills for swinging around. Check out his latest moves on the bar at Centerpointe park.
This week, we confirmed that all the milk he's been drinking has resulted in Nicholas weighing in at 10 pounds, 2 ounces. I think that he's also grown a few inches as well. That's harder to measure as he's quite squirmy and loves to kick. He also has begun to baby talk - making small babbles when he's happy and lying on his back. It's amazing what a few weeks growth can mean in baby terms. He's also able to lift his head up when we carry him around, and he's often mesmerized by the world around him. The biggest development is his ability to sleep at night with a 12 am, 3 am and 8 am feeding. The feedings aren't too long, so I've been able to catch up on my sleep. I keep the room dark so that he eats and knocks right out after he finishes rather than being wide awake. We also went for our first walk together alone in the neighborhood. The fresh air was amazing for the little guy. He stayed asleep for most of the walk, waking up only after I
We're almost at the finish mark and Nicholas is still relaxing inside. I think he's quite comfy in my belly, enjoying the warmth and good food that I feed him everyday. Cam made some amazing pancakes this morning and we just finished some delicious beef stew for dinner. Belly at 39 weeks This weekend was definitely all about nesting - after having two weeks off from work, I finally got cracking on getting the apartment cleaned and his clothes organized. We initially moved all the stuff in the 3rd bedroom to the hallway to make way for the nursery and it's been there ever since. My goal this week is to completely clear it out so that we're completely done. We did manage to get another Ikea bookshelf setup to add more space and I vacuumed like mad. The baby will come home to a clean house. Cam finally setup the BOB - named the Beast of Burden - with the car seat attachment. We tested out the swivel wheels in the apartment. His clothes are now also fully or
Baby Hiccups This week marks the first time our little Nicholas started hiccups in the womb. At first, I couldn't figure out what the spasms were, as they are usually down low in the belly. I heard about babies having hiccups in the womb and wondered how you'd know - but our little guy seems to be having them quite often these days that it's got to be hiccups. Apparently, they are quite normal and caused by the intake of amniotic fluid and breathing. Kicking Around The other night, I decided to turn from my left side over to the right - which I do every night. This time, it was about 4 am and I instantly felt him kicking me continuously. I shrugged it off as his night time partying in the belly and even tried to wake Cam to tell him about it. The next day, Sue advised me that it was likely Nicholas telling me that I was pushing down on him and making him uncomfortable! Hahha....a far cry from a belly party. I am now more aware of his gestures and do notice him nudging
