I enjoyed my 28th week off on holidays. The first weekend, I spent with my mom at the Hilton where I sat by the pool for two days loving every minute under the sun.
We're almost at the finish mark and Nicholas is still relaxing inside. I think he's quite comfy in my belly, enjoying the warmth and good food that I feed him everyday. Cam made some amazing pancakes this morning and we just finished some delicious beef stew for dinner. Belly at 39 weeks This weekend was definitely all about nesting - after having two weeks off from work, I finally got cracking on getting the apartment cleaned and his clothes organized. We initially moved all the stuff in the 3rd bedroom to the hallway to make way for the nursery and it's been there ever since. My goal this week is to completely clear it out so that we're completely done. We did manage to get another Ikea bookshelf setup to add more space and I vacuumed like mad. The baby will come home to a clean house. Cam finally setup the BOB - named the Beast of Burden - with the car seat attachment. We tested out the swivel wheels in the apartment. His clothes are now also fully or...
This week, we confirmed that all the milk he's been drinking has resulted in Nicholas weighing in at 10 pounds, 2 ounces. I think that he's also grown a few inches as well. That's harder to measure as he's quite squirmy and loves to kick. He also has begun to baby talk - making small babbles when he's happy and lying on his back. The biggest development is his ability to sleep at night with a 12 am, 3 am and 8 am feeding. The feedings aren't too long, so I've been able to catch up on my sleep. I keep the room dark so that he eats and knocks right out after he finishes rather than being wide awake. We also went for our first walk together alone in the neighborhood. The fresh air was amazing for the little guy. He stayed asleep for most of the walk, waking up only after I...
This week, I went to see Dr. Chris J. Farrell for my 22nd week checkup. I was probably the most relaxed at this visit since we've gone though most of the major tests with flying colors. I've also been feeling regular movements, which also soothes my worries. Dr. Farrell has been fantastic from the very start. When my family doctor first presented me with a list of doctors to choose from, I had no idea who to select. The list was overwhelming, so I quickly took a glance and noticed one that had the same last name as the OB that delivered me - Dr. P.J. Farrell in Sudbury. My mom always talked about him and I knew as early as Grade 4 that he was my delivery doctor. She must have liked him because she saw him regularly, went into the delivery room by herself, not speaking any english, and delivered without drugs. My first impressions of Dr. Farrell was that he was very old school. He takes the time to answer every single question you have and is very thorough. He never rushes you ...
